Jezebel Spirit and “Letting Go”

Because we have been called to recognize and pray for some very serious problems in our Church and individuals that have needed prayer ministry, it was brought to my attention by some of the board that I should do a page on some observations we have come up with in the past several months, especially beginning with Lent.

One noticeable problem that we have been encountering a lot more of is the inability of people to FORGIVE and FORGET. We have lost sight of the fact that when we go to confession Jesus does just that and he FORGETS.  When someone has hurt you, whether it is a best friend’s betrayal, a relative’s harsh words or a spouse’s infidelity, letting go once the problem is out in the open, learning from it and then letting it go is not being done as much as it should. If we take the problem or situation back we reopen the wounds and cause more hurt and open ourselves to more sin that we have to go back to confession for.

The wife that “forgives” her husband’s infidelity and still reminds him of it after many years is simply opening the wounds and has never really forgiven him. This becomes a source of pain for the whole family and they often end up coming here to the ministry to help them with their marriage. Once this out in “the light” then the healing can happen.

A child that has been abused by a parent has a very hard time trying to heal from the generational problems he has to face and often does not know where it is coming from. As we pray and discern the root cause of the problems, it is out in the “light” and then he can “let go” of all the hurt, receive the graces and become a peaceful person within himself.

We have encountered some very significant problems with the some evil spirits within our church, clergy and leaders of organizations on a larger scale recently. With the concentrated prayers, fasting and penance of the ministry we have seen some major healings and better focus from those that have been tormented.

The major spirit that we have been dealing with is a spirit that is named “Jezebel” which is a source of unbridled witchcraft and hatred for male authority.  It is necessary to understand that even though spirits have names, they really have existed before its namesake was born. Although we refer to Jezebel as “she,” this spirit is without gender.  

To understand the spirit of Jezebel, we must understand the genesis of this personality in the Bible. The first mention of Jezebel is seen in the rebellious, manipulative wife of King Ahab. It was actually this spirit, operating through Queen Jezebel, which had caused over ten million Hebrews—all but seven thousand faithful souls—to bow to Baal. Jezebel caused them to forsake the covenant, destroy the sacred altars, and kill the prophets (see 1 Kings 19:14-18). This one spirit was almost totally responsible for corrupting an entire nation, and this principality has come full force against our nation our cities, our churches, our pastors, prayer and youth groups.

Jezebel is fiercely independent and intensely ambitious for pre-eminence and control It is noteworthy that the name “Jezebel,” literally translated, means “without cohabitation.” This simply means she refuses “to live together” or “cohabit” with anyone. Jezebel will not dwell with anyone unless she can control and dominate the relationship. When she seems submissive or “servant-like” it is only for the sake of gaining some strategic advantage. From her heart, she yields to no one.

Look for Jezebel to target women who are embittered against men, either through neglect or misuse of authority. This spirit operates through women who, because of insecurity, jealousy, or vanity desire to dominate others. Jezebel is there behind the woman who publicly humiliates her husband with her tongue, and thereafter controls him by his fear of public embarrassment.

While she uses every means of sexual perversity known in hell, immorality is not the issue; CONTROL is what she seeks, using the power of sexual passions for the purpose of possessing men. To a woman under the influence of Jezebel, “conquering” a man need not involve physical contact if a seductive glance of her eyes will capture him.

Even though there are no more demons today than in the early church we have mass media to flood the world with his ploys.  John wrote “And the serpent poured water like a river out of his mouth after the woman, so that he might cause her (the church) to be swept away with the flood.”

It is possible today for even a minor demon to exercise major influences simply by possessing the writers and producers of movies and television remembering that Satan has always been “the prince of the air” which includes the electronic airwaves which carry radio, television and computer signals. This spirit flows unhindered throughout the entertainment industries. It flaunts itself in the world of fashion and is in our schools, colleges and seminaries. She is the destroyer of politicians and our priests. As noted above in infidelity, she is the motivator in that as well as abortion.

Paul Harvey once wrote an article about the world today including all the things that are happening in the world today from gangs to abortion. When asking the devil what he would do to take over the world, he answered “just continue doing what I am doing”.

There is a war, a very ancient war, between the spirit of Elijah and the spirit of Jezebel. In this age-old battle, Elijah represents the interests of heaven; the call to repentance and the return to God. Jezebel represents that unique principality whose purpose is to hinder and defeat the work of repentance.

Jezebel, in a fit of rage, released a flood of witchcraft and demonic power against Elijah and put fear into his heart. Elijah RAN.

She loves to sit in church, distract the women into fantasizing about the men there, disrupt the concentration of the married women on what is lacking in their husbands, so the distractions go on.

When we recognize that this spirit is at work we must fight it with HUMILITY, TRUE REPENTENCE, PRAYER. She hates intercessory prayer (which we do a lot here in the ministry) which sets the minds and souls of people free.

She hates anyone that speaks out against her and brings her agenda into the light. Her greatest enemy is the WORD OF GOD. Her ultimate hatred is against God Himself.

When you war against the principality of Jezebel, even though you stand against her lusts and witchcrafts, YOU MUST GUARD AGAINST THE POWER DEMONS OF FEAR AND DISCOURAGEMENT. FOR THESE SHE WILL SEND AGAINST YOU TO DISTRACT YOU FROM YOUR WARFARE AND YOUR VICTORY.

We have to invoke Our Blessed Mother for her intercession and protection against this spirit that hates her so much and we will be freed. Is is good to take a good look at ourselves in this month of devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
