April 2007
One of the stories I have shared as I have been in charge of Divine Mercy Sunday at Santa Cruz for several years happened the first year I was requested to put the program together by Father Fernando (he was then a brother). As we discussed it and he got permission from Father Cyprian to do it he remembered he had to leave to do a retreat and left it up to me. I had two weeks to “get it together”. I had to work hard, print up the flyers, make the program and all this without the technology of today. Copy, paste and all the old ways of doing things.
I made up the flyers and wrote the mysteries of the rosary with reflections from Saint Faustina’s diary. It was the year she was canonized in Rome that same day. There was no problem with doing the work as I had been in charge of numerous conferences, healing masses etc. over the years; however, this particular time my grandson was in the hospital with some major health problems. They could not find out exactly what it was but he could not eat, he had an inoperable blood clot between his stomach and kidney and some form of bacteria they could not identify in his blood. I felt real bad that I could not be at the hospital with him as the rest of the family and his other grandmother was. He had not been baptized so I arranged that for him but the rest of the time I had to work on the program.
The day before Divine Mercy Sunday, the last day of the Novena my daughter called and said that his situation was worse. He might go home but have to have a feeding tube for at least six months. The doctors could not figure out what was wrong with him.
I arrived at Santa Cruz and only a couple of my real close friends knew what was going on. The day was awesome, in fact Father Cyprian was so overjoyed by the people that were going to confession that day that he wanted to know if that Feast couldn’t be celebrated more than once a year. The Rosary was led by 15 different individuals for each reflection, the Divine Mercy Chaplet was chanted by Brother David Guzman, Brother David did one of the talks. What an awesome day and I just prayed and asked the intercession of SAINT FAUSTINA for my grandson’s health.
It was only about two hours after we finished and I had gone home and my daughter called to tell me that my grandson was going home from the hospital the next morning. He had no more signs of the illness, the doctor’s could not figure out what happened. His blood was fine, no more sign of the blood clot, he could eat regular meals and his health was perfect. His greatest treasure to this day is the picture I gave him of our newly canonized Saint Faustina.
Just a few more answered prayers for this month are:
These are just a few of the answered prayers. In later months I will share more about some of our special prayer warriors (those that will let me tell who they are) as well as ongoing answered prayers.
