Mission Statement:
The Mission of Jesus, Mary and Joseph Ministries is to serve the community of Tucson, Arizona and beyond with the presentation of faithful Catholic spirituality, prayer and education by providing a center for Catholic outreach and evangelization in obedience to the prayer of Christ our Lord. John 17:21 "that they all may be one as you Father are in me and I in you that they also may be in us that the world may know that you sent me..."
This is only possible through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary who is the patroness of this Ministry along with Saint Joseph, Saint Anthony and the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
Business Resumé
JMJ is a ministry dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary. Our goal is to expand and better serve the Catholic Community of Tucson and surrounding areas by providing a larger facility which will serve as community resource center.
JMJ Ministries was a religious store and pilgrimage company that was owned and operated by H. Gayle Sims which started in 1995. Gayle, along with numerous volunteers and prayer partners, have offered many conferences, retreats, Holy Masses, catechism, education and aiding churches and Priests as well as taking them on pilgrimages. In doing so we are able to maintain Catholic traditions. In faithfulness to the magisterium we provide educational and spiritual direction that is utilized by local Priests and lay people. In addition the ministry has been involved in community and neighborhood concerns through our prayer support ministry.
In the 11½ years of ministry in Tucson, our primary area has been the South Side of Tucson with a special attention to the City of South Tucson, which is a very small, poor community. It is ministering to the people of the South side that we realized the importance for the need of a larger facility namely a resource center that will provide both a spiritual and a social haven for the area; facilities which at the present time do not exist in Tucson or the surrounding area.
Programs, Objectives and Goals:
To fulfill our major program-related goals for 2006-2007, JMJ is extending our arms to the wider Foundation and Corporate donor community for the first time. We've structured our fundraising effort to focus on the key project of purchasing 4.13 acres in South Tucson which we hope to initially build a 25,000 square foot resource facility to provide the aforementioned activities, while at the same time will give us the necessary land to add additional buildings which are necessary for social outreach.
JMJ Ministries is dedicated to ensuring that all of Tucson's youth have greater access to caring staff, quality programs and safe clubs that will enhance their lives and shape their futures.
Our fundraising project goals for 2005-2006, therefore, have been estimated at $950,000.00. We would like to extend to all interested donors the option of supporting our project or simply providing a grant to offset our operating expenses.
We pray that you can support our efforts to spread the Kingdom of God. As you join with JMJ we are certain that you will be blessed and share in the abundant graces that God in his mercy has poured out upon us.
